GTAW welder — Wayne County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Wayne County, Illinois. You will be based at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. On the job you will handle: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
