The role involves: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool Ideal candidate: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work 3+ years on the tools preferred.
