Machine operator (earthworks) — Smith County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Smith County, Kansas. You will be based at a drainage and utilities contractor. What we are looking for: • Sound understanding of daily maintenance and greasing • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Comfortable with GPS or laser machine control The role involves: • Work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Clear sites, demolish structures and load out muck and rubble • Load spoil into tippers and dumpers cleanly without spillage • Work to laser, GPS or 2D/3D machine-control guidance 2+ years on the tools preferred.
