Abattoir worker — Luzerne County

Join our team: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. You should have: • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry Day to day you will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain.
