On the job you will handle: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish Ideal candidate: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
