Join our team: horizontal milling machine operator (Alaska)

Now hiring: we are hiring a horizontal milling machine operator in Nome Census Area, Alaska. You will be based at a busy machine shop. Day-to-day duties: • Measure features with vernier callipers, micrometers and bore gauges • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square • Hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Run first-off parts and check dimensions before batch production • Read engineering drawings and GD&T to plan the machining sequence Requirements: • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces • Able to grind and set HSS cutters • Safety conscious and comfortable wearing PPE around moving machinery 5+ years on the tools preferred.
