Immediate opening: brick and block layer (Texas)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Ector County, Texas. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. What we are looking for: • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day The role involves: • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
