Now hiring: we are hiring a pastry baker in Real County, Texas. The job is in a bread factory. Day to day you will knead and develop dough by hand and in the spiral mixer; keep work surfaces and equipment clean to food-safety standards; check finished products for colour, crumb and weight; shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand; score the top of loaves before baking; decorate cakes with icing, fondant and fresh cream. What we are looking for: • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens • Knowledge of dough fermentation and proving • Basic cake decorating and piping skills Six days a week, one day off.
