The role involves: • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius • Follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground You should have: • A good head for heights for tower crane work • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Proven experience on mobile, tower or overhead cranes 5+ years on the tools preferred.
