Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Chibok, Borno State. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Day-to-day duties: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush Six days a week, one day off.
