Horticulturist • Washington County, Rhode Island

We are recruiting: we are hiring a horticulturist in Washington County, Rhode Island. What we are looking for: • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • Physically fit for bending, lifting and long hours outdoors • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting On the job you will handle: • Plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings • Operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters • Maintain compost heaps and the potting shed • Dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds • Lay turf and oversow bare patches of lawn • Prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. We offer $130 per day plus benefits. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
