Immediate opening: we are hiring a butcher in St. Helens, England. The job is at a busy retail butcher's shop. What we are looking for: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths Day-to-day duties: • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
