On a typical shift you will grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. Requirements: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight $22 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
