Day to day you will strip and stockpile topsoil ready for reuse; keep the cab clean and oil-free and report defects promptly; excavate trenches for water, sewer and cable runs; swap buckets and attachments — rock breaker, grab, ripper, auger. You should have: • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones • Valid CPCS/NPORS card or local heavy-equipment licence Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
