Great opportunity: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Roberts County, Texas. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths On the job you will handle: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $5,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
