Counter butcher — Union County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a counter butcher in Union County, Oregon. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. The role involves: • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Season and marinate meat on request Ideal candidate: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling 1+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
