Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tower crane operator in Milton Keynes, England. The job is in a steel fabrication workshop. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts The role involves: • Work out the load weight and the lifting radius • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Keep a safe distance from overhead power lines Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
