Urgent requirement: we are hiring a TIG welder in Douglas County, Oregon. The job is in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. Day to day you will inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size. Requirements: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
