Immediate opening: we are hiring a commis chef in Walsall, England. You will work in a catering banquet kitchen. On a typical shift you will taste and adjust seasoning for consistency; plate and garnish dishes for a quick pass to service; label and date all prepped ingredients in the walk-in; chop, dice and portion vegetables, fish and meat; check deliveries and rotate stock using FIFO; marinate meats and prepare curries, gravies and bases. Ideal candidate: • Able to stand for long shifts and work in heat • Food hygiene / FoSTaC certificate At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts.
