We are recruiting: we are hiring a gardener in McDowell County, West Virginia. The job is at a private estate garden. Day-to-day duties: • Lay turf and oversow bare patches of lawn • Operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters • Water beds and lawns and set up drip irrigation lines • Rake up fallen leaves, grass clippings and garden waste • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings Requirements: • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • Able to safely operate mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers • An eye for detail and a tidy, well-kept finish Six days a week, one day off.
