Urgent requirement: furnace operator (Rivers State)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Etche, Rivers State. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding The role involves tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture.
