Immediate opening: we are hiring a counter butcher in Sullivan County, Missouri. You will work at a halal meat counter. Your main tasks: • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking Ideal candidate: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
