Immediate opening: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Aroostook County, Maine. You will work at a wholesale meat market. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling You will stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; season and marinate meat on request; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case.
