Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Hocking County, Ohio. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Your main tasks: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
