Head butcher — Douglas County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a head butcher in Douglas County, Oregon. On a typical shift you will take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler Part-time with flexible hours.
