Now hiring: we are hiring a plant operator (dozer) in Johnson County, Iowa. The job is at a land-clearing site. Your main tasks: • Carry out pre-start checks on tracks, hydraulics, coolant and engine oil • Clear land of trees, stumps and debris before earthworks begin • Maintain haul roads and keep drainage falls clear • Spread imported fill in even layers ready for compaction • Strip topsoil and stockpile it for later reuse • Grade and level subgrade for roads, pads and platforms Ideal candidate: • Good understanding of cut-and-fill and batter slopes • Able to read grade stakes, drawings and site levels 2+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts. Meals and transport allowance provided. $29 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
