Gang bricklayer • Ogle County, Illinois

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in Ogle County, Illinois. You will work at a groundworks and structures site. On a typical shift you will buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go. You should have: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools 3+ years on the tools preferred.
