Ideal candidate: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear The role involves establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads.
