Immediate opening: furnace operator (Ohio)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in Warren County, Ohio. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Day to day you will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring.
