Urgent requirement: we are hiring a butcher in Deschutes County, Oregon. You will work at a busy retail butcher's shop. Day-to-day duties: • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights You should have: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required 5+ years on the tools preferred.
