We are recruiting: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Reading, England. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal On the job you will handle: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Part-time with flexible hours. Contact us to fix an interview.
