Great opportunity: foundry operative (Ohio)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Ashtabula County, Ohio. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. On a typical shift you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
