You should have: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day The role involves weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp.
