Urgent requirement: we are hiring a banksman in Nagaon, Assam. The job is on an offshore oil and gas platform. Ideal candidate: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Day to day you will coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads.
