Counter butcher • County Durham, England

Great opportunity: we are hiring a counter butcher in County Durham, England. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. On a typical shift you will break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; season and marinate meat on request; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders. What we are looking for: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
