On a typical shift you will attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; read lift plans and method statements before starting. You should have: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
