What we are looking for: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day Day-to-day duties: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
