Now hiring: we are hiring a blocklayer in Tsafe, Zamfara State. You should have: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Your main tasks: • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
