Immediate opening: we are hiring a finishing presser in Linn County, Iowa. The job is in a busy laundry. Ideal candidate: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment On the job you will handle: • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing 3+ years on the tools preferred.
