Head butcher wanted in Marshall County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a head butcher in Marshall County, Iowa. You will be based at a wholesale meat market. Requirements: • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths Your main tasks: • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
