Banksman — Zurmi

Join our team: we are hiring a banksman in Zurmi, Zamfara State. The job is on an offshore oil and gas platform. On a typical shift you will direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear. Ideal candidate: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
