Immediate opening: machine operator (earthworks) (Vermont)

Now hiring: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Washington County, Vermont. What we are looking for: • Sound understanding of daily maintenance and greasing • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones Day to day you will track the machine on and off low-loaders for transport; backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers; dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels; inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up; work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $220 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
