Join our team: we are hiring a head butcher in Hamilton County, Illinois. You will be based at a halal meat counter. You will weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
