Retail butcher — Kane County

Join our team: we are hiring a retail butcher in Kane County, Illinois. The job is in a hotel or restaurant butchery. Your main tasks: • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler 5+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. $17 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
