You should have: • Wear safety helmet, boots and gloves at all times • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker On a typical shift you will set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction; wheel barrows of rubble to the skip and keep the site clean; dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel; pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator; backfill and ram down soil around the foundations; erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up.
