Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Kachia, Kaduna State. The role involves: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 6+ years on the tools preferred.
