Join our team: we are hiring a halal butcher in Sandoval County, New Mexico. The job is at a busy retail butcher's shop. Ideal candidate: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Your main tasks: • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Season and marinate meat on request • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
