Horticulturist • Perry County, Illinois

We are recruiting: we are hiring a horticulturist in Perry County, Illinois. You will work in a public park. The role involves plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings; cut back tree branches and clear overhanging limbs; operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters; maintain compost heaps and the potting shed; dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds; prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers. Requirements: • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • Physically fit for bending, lifting and long hours outdoors • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance Full-time, day shift.
