Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Pakyong, Sikkim. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Day-to-day duties: • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules You should bring confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire; able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
