Now hiring: we are hiring a pressman in Cooch Behar District, West Bengal. You will work at a dry cleaner's. On a typical shift you will operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots. You should bring a keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases; sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings; aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep.
